Dr. Richman received an M.A. in psychology in May 1993, and a Ph.D. in clinical psychology in June 1997. Both degrees were granted from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver Canada. During his doctoral training, he completed his clinical internship at the Centre for Psychological Services at the University of Ottawa, and studied and trained extensively in experiential psychotherapy, gestalt therapy, behavioral therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples. Dr. Richman’s research focused on primary prevention of disordered eating, psychoacoustics, and forensic psychology.
Whilst maintaining a private practice in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, he has served as Deputy Registrar of the College of Psychologists of British Columbia. Dr. Richman also worked in inpatient and outpatient psychiatric hospital settings in Canada and Israel.
Dr. Richman has lectured and led numerous workshops on a wide variety of topics in the areas of psychology, psychotherapy, and natural healing. He has worked as a psychologist in Jerusalem at the Etgar ADHD Clinic (affiliated with Herzog Hospital), at the Listening Hands Healing Institute, and at the Talbieh psychiatric day hospital. Dr. Richman currently works as a psychologist in private practice in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.
Dr. Richman provides psychotherapy for adults, adolescents, couples, families and children, consults with parents and families. He also conducts dynamic parent groups. Dr. Richman has actively practiced psychology for the past 22 years.
Natural and integrative therapies are often incorporated as an adjunct to talk-therapy and consulting. If appropriate, clients are encouraged to explore the relationship between what they are putting into their bodies [i.e., food, supplements, beverages], and how they feel. Dr. Richman’s adopts a holistic approach in his practice, working in conjunction with other health professionals and healers such as: naturopaths, osteopathic physicians, medical doctors, cranio-sacral practitioners, doctors of traditional Chinese medicine [TCM], nutritionists, body [hellerwork, rolfing] and movement [feldenkrais method, tai-chi] practitioners, homeopaths, and herbalists.
